HOME - a new M&E event

 

HOME is a brand new event for the hospitality industry, specifically the Meetings & Events sector. The aim was to create an industry-defining event for M&E professionals that doesn’t just fill a gap in the market, but speaks hard truths to an industry in need of change.

Hospitality has long been dominated by assumptions, comfort zones and “the way things have always been done.” The event - a partnership between Venue Performance and Rob Chamberlain Marketing - didn’t need another fluffy, surface-level conference. We wanted to create a movement!

Speaking home truths

to hospitality.

 

We wanted the event to represent the relationship you have at home with your loved ones... the people that love you and are prepared to tell you a few "home truths" from time to time. A safe space to share experiences, hear from experts, and embrace not just new ideas but the 'right' ideas. To push people out of their comfort zone. We wanted to challenge old assumptions, uncover truths and debunk myths, as real growth starts with the truth!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Visual identity...

 

The logo needed to work hard. It had to signal warmth, strength, and clarity - a “home” for truth, but also a place of transformation. So, we created a mark that combines: A house icon, symbolising a safe space; The letter M for Meetings; The letter E for Events. The result is a confident, geometric icon that also subtly points upward - a nod to growth, direction, and challenge.

 

 

True blue...

 

The colour palette was deliberately meaningful:

True Blue  - Signalling integrity, clarity, and trust.

VP Blue - From Venue Performance, whose benchmarking software provides the cold, hard data that powers truth in commercial conversations.

RC Green - From Rob Chamberlain Marketing, symbolising education, challenge, and real-world marketing thinking (not just comms or fluff).

The path to truth...

 

We started with the core insight that 'truth is the starting point for change'. From that seed, we developed a bold brand position. HOME would be a safe space to challenge outdated practices, unpack myths, and build new ways of thinking from the inside out.

We developed a flow for the event that mirrored the content we wanted to deliver. Sessions on: People → Strategy → Tactics. Each track (or “Truth Path”) was designed to take attendees through a clear four-stage journey: Debunk → Reveal → Reframe → Do.

This ensured that each session had purpose, momentum, and built towards real outcomes - not just discussion for discussion’s sake. We also coined the phrase “Truth Tribe” to build community, drive engagement, and rally like-minded professionals around a common cause.
